What is the difference between Institutional Charges and Non-Institutional Charges?
Non-Institutional Charges (Optional Fees)
The only way Federal and/or State student aid funds can be used to pay for "non-institutional charges" is to obtain your authorization to pay those charges. Non-institutional charges are not directly tied to taking a class (e.g., health insurance, bookstore charges, library fines, parking fines). Examples of non-institutional charges (optional fees) include, but are not limited to, BookSaver fees, Recreation fee, Student Representation fee, and/or ASB/Student Services Sticker fee. More information on these fees can be found in Fee Information.
If you do not authorize and would like to pay for your optional fees without using your financial aid funds, please visit the Admissions and Records Office at the campus you are registered. Please note; you MUST pay for your optional fees in full at the time of your request.
If you would like to revoke or modify your authorization, please email or visit your financial aid office at the campus you are receiving your Federal and/or State Aid.
