City of Yucaipa Donates Fire Truck to Crafton Hills College

There was no shiny red truck for a photo because of inclement weather, but it didn’t dampen the appreciation from Crafton Hills College when they received a donation of a fire truck from the City of Yucaipa/CAL FIRE on Monday, January 23 at the Yucaipa City Council meeting.
“This couldn’t come at a better time,” said Chief Mike Alder. “We have a need for a minimum of two fire engines in order to properly perform our hose and firefighting operations at the academy and we had to retire one at the end of last year. This will help us tremendously.”
CHC President Wei Zhou thanked the Council and CAL FIRE for the generous donation, “Simulation activities are a vital part of all of our occupational programs, and this fire truck will offer our fire academy students the hands-on experience they need in the real world. We thank the City of Yucaipa for their continued support.”
The City of Yucaipa purchased a new fire truck late last year, enabling them to make the donation to Crafton Hills College.
