San Bernardino Community College District available to assist students of closed Corinthian Colleges

The Chancellor of the San Bernardino Community College District (SBCCD) encouraged students stranded by the closure of Corinthian Colleges to consider working with counselors at both San Bernardino Valley College and Crafton Hills College in order to avoid losing momentum in completing their education and to make the best of a challenging situation.

SBCCD Chancellor Bruce Baron said, "We, like the other California Community Colleges, stand ready to assist students whose education was so unexpectedly interrupted. We encourage those in the Inland Empire to contact our counseling, financial aid, and admissions offices, as well as other offices that support student success at San Bernardino Valley College (valleycollege.edu) and Crafton Hills College (craftonhills.edu) for guidance. We offer dozens of programs that we believe Corinthian students will find appropriate for the completion of their education."

The California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office issued the following statement on the closure of Corinthian Colleges:

"The California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office, in conjunction with other state and federal agencies, is working to assist students who have been affected by the recent regulatory actions involving Corinthian Colleges. Our 112 colleges, which serve 2.1 million students, are ready to help students who wish to pursue their educational goals at community college. Students can find resources on financial aid, enrollment, student performance outcomes and career orientation at http://californiacommunitycolleges.cccco.edu/ as well as at the following link at the California Department of Justice website: www.oag.ca.gov/Corinthian."
