Long lines at Financial Aid, Admissions & Records and Student Life are coming to an end. Not because we have fewer students, (hardly!) but because Crafton is implementing a new virtual queue.
“The QLess app will result in better time management for our students,” says Larry Aycock, A&R coordinator.
With QLess, students can check-in online for the student services department they want to visit. Once they check-in, the app will give them an estimated wait time. It will update them every 30 minutes and send them an alert to come to the department 10 minutes before their appointment. If the student can’t make it at their specified time, they can “re-queue” themselves to the back of the line.
“Students will be able to sit and wait in the Roadrunner Café, go to class, and even time their trip to campus for the least amount of waiting,” says Aycock.
Launching in August, the app will be available on the CHC website. Walk-in students will be able to check-in at the front desk of each department where they will be queued up by staff. Computer screens will be posted in the Crafton Center which will display the queue and wait times.
A&R is also implementing a short survey at the end of the students’ visit to gauge satisfaction with, and success of, their visit. This will provide valuable data for Admission & Records in their service-level outcomes.
