In-Service Day One: Wednesday, January 15, 2025
January 15th
All spring 2025 workshops, trainings, and activities will take place on campus.
This interactive session will equip faculty with tools and strategies to address the increasing mental health and behavioral challenges among students in the classroom. Grounded in the principles of Restorative Justice, this presentation will explore ways to build connections, foster trust, and de-escalate conflicts while maintaining a supportive learning environment. Participants will gain insights into effective de-escalation practices, communication strategies to approach students in distress, and the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) process. Through real-world scenarios and collaborative discussions, faculty will leave empowered to create classrooms that prioritize empathy, inclusivity, and shared responsibility for student success.
